Code Rouge

Code Rouge is a short film directed by Alex Parbacius which spans 2 continents. Principal Paris photography (about 35%) of the film, was shot by Forrest Sassaman over the course of about 10 days. Shooting ranged from gorilla-style shooting on the streets of Paris, to heart-pumping nightclubs, to sneaking into Versailles with nearly 30 extras.

About

It was a warm September day in 2021, I had just shot a to-camera interview of Michael Bay speaking at Wesleyan University when I received the call for Code Rouge. I was flown to Paris France with 2-days notice to jump into the middle of DPing this crazy movie which spans 2 continents. My portion of the film (about 35%) involved sneaking into Versailles with 30 extras, shooting gorilla-style on the streets of Paris, and shooting in night clubs without a pre-light. The movie finally premiered at the Roxy Hotel in NYC in the fall of 2024.

*The French actor pictured also makes a featured appearance in the 2024 Oscar winner Poor Things.

Code Rouge officially released at the Roxy Hotel in NYC to a private screening in the fall of 2024.
