About Margarite
Margarite is a short dance film taking place in a subluminal-like limbo space. The film explores themes of breaking bonds, and contained freedom through dance and movement. As both a producer and DoP on this project, a lot of the lead-in time was centered around logistics. Alyssa was busy constructing a set with a small band of colleagues while I prepped the visual approach, and got our lighting team on the same page. On the day I was able to smoothly pass over producing duties to my lovely wife Chelsea so that I could focus solely on shooting.
The short was shot in a day but required a rehearsal day in advance to explore organic movement between the dancer -Louisa Pancoast- the camera, and the story that Alyssa wanted to tell.
The film is currently in post production.

About red sheep
Red Sheep is a period piece following the story of two sisters in soviet-era Romania. Visually, horror elements become more prominent as the film’s protagonist is forced to confront her abusive husband.
Principal photography took place over the course of 2-days in Yonkers.
Unfortunately due to production complications such as illness and unforeseen production costs, there are currently no plans for the film to be finished.

Routine Divine
Routine Divine is short dance film shot by Forrest Sassaman exploring the escape of routine through lyrical, dreamlike, visuals and vogue movement.
The project is currently in post production.
Dance Film
Director/Producer: Connell Oberman
Director of Photography: Forrest Sassaman

Themes
Both visually and dance-wise the film starts in a gritty apartment with pedestrian movement slowly evolving into a heightened and visually rich world. Connell and I wanted to explore very distinct section transitions both in terms of color, movement, energy, and natural elements like fire and water.
The film’s evolution begins in black and white then transitions into a dull city Manhattan skyrise, water, sun and fire, and finally a rooftop punctuated with a clothes line of oranges and reds.
The film is currently in post production and is scheduled to release Spring of 2025
